Manganese Alloy
Silicon Manganese Alloy, a masterful blend of manganese, silicon, iron, and trace elements, represents a pinnacle in iron alloys with its vast applications and significant production volume. Its usage ranks second among electric furnace ferroalloys due to its robust affinity with oxygen. When employed in steelmaking, the alloy forms deoxidation products mnsio3 and mn2sio4, with melting points at a favorable 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC. This results in a low melting point, large particle size, and superior deoxidation efficiency. Notably, it demonstrates a reduced burning loss rate-29%-when compared to separatemanganese or silicon deoxidation. The alloy is crafted by simultaneously reducing manganese ore, manganese oxide, and silicon dioxide in silica using carbon in a submerged arc furnace.
